Got a project you'd like to share with the world? Here's your chance!
Reflections|Projections 2003 is issuing a call for research and
undergraduate projects to be presented in a poster session during the
annual midwest computing conference, October 17-20.
If you've created something exciting individually or in a group,
you should submit. Examples of the kinds of research projects
we're looking for include:
- Undergraduate research
- Novel open-source software development
- Interfacing with and controlling exotic devices
- Independant study results
- Semester Group Projects
Projects accepted to the conference will be presented at a poster
session the evening of October 17 and the afternoon of October 18.
Submission Instructions
To participate, please submit a summary describing
your project and its contributions.
Submissions should be
in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format, and be no more than two pages.
Please include in your summary:
- Names of all contributors
- photos of any physical artifacts (if applicable)
- Web URL's of any pages associated with the project
- references to previous or supporting research.
Mail your submission to conference-paper-submission@acm.uiuc.edu
by October 1st, 5:00pm CST. You will receive a confirmation within 24 hours.
Review Process
Projects and research will be reviewed by ACM@UIUC staff in consoltation
with faculty of the UIUC Department of Computer Science. Accept/Reject
decisions will be made by considering:
- Contributions to the state-of-the-art
- Originallity
- Completeness of work
- Coolness
Authors will be contacted before October 10th with final descisions.
Accepted Projects
Authors with accepted projects should prepare a poster for display during
Reflections|Projections 2003. Posters should measure no more than 4 feet by 5
feet. Presenters are welcome to bring any additions items to illustrate their
project. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide computer equipment.
