Ephrat Bitton
Biography
Ephrat Bitton is a fifth-year doctoral candidate in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research and the Center for New Media at UC Berkeley. She is currently working with Professor Ken Goldberg in the Automation Sciences Laboratory on the design of a collaborative filtering model for comments in an online discussion forum that is both efficient and resistant to manipulation. She is also working with Professor Dorit Hochbaum on network-flow models for analyzing large amounts of gene-expression data. Her technical interests include algorithm design, combinatorial optimization, graph theory and mathematical modeling. Bitton was awarded the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship in 2007.
